Male Orgasm Without Ejaculation
I am a 55 year old divorced male, and until age 50 the words orgasm and ejaculation were synonyms. Over the last 5 years, I find it becoming more common for me to have what can be best explained as an orgasm without an ejaculation. Less common is ejaculation without orgasm, but it does happen. (I use condoms so I know there is no ejaculate.)
Is this common in older males or something I should be worried about?

P.S. While my BP is good (122/74), I am on BP meds and on antidepressants. And I do use Cialis.

It could be that you're experiencing retrograde ejaculation where semen flows backwards to the bladder instead of going up through the urethra and outside the body. One reason this can happen is from various prescription drugs. It's problematic if you and your partner are trying to conceive. If not, it's not harmful to have this experience. However, if you're at all concerned you should talk with your doctor. It's also possible that you're experiencing what many men who practice tantric sex know...that it's possible for men to have multiple orgasms. So, if you're not ejaculating or experiencing retrograde ejaculation, and you continue stimulation, there's a chance you can climax again.
Bob, having been down this road with a man I was dating using BP meds, antidepressants and Cialis and diabetic. He experienced the same thing. However over time and with lots of experimentation we were able to overcome this. Lots of manual and oral stimulation helped before actual intercourse. Using different speeds and incorporating my hands and finding that special sweet spot on a mans penis which from experience I have found is the vein on the backside that leads down to your testicles. Applying different pressure here with tongue or fingers can be very exciting or massaging the two vein lines right above the top of your thighs in the finger space above your penis may heighten the experiece. Agreed though a quick trip to the Dr. may also help but exploring more and experiencing more may help as well. Best of luck to you.
Excellent posts above. Some blood pressure medications can mess with the orgasm/ejaculation combo. I would add that you should have your prostate checked by an urologist to see if it is becoming enlarged.
I did go to my doctor and she mentioned similar things. Also, she felt the Cialis may be letting me regain my erection before the rest of my body is ready. She recommended more exercise for me so head off a possible heart attack from having more sex than my body would normally be capable of. Thank you all for your input.
