I want to try anal sex with my boyfriend, but I'm not sure if I'm comfortable with the idea of the "material" coming out of there and onto his "tool"...is there any way I can really avoid the "material" getting anywhere..?

The porn stars do a complete enema. In the past when I have done this, I encourage my lady to fast, maybe we both fast and lots of fruit juice. Some folks just have anal sex in the shower but truthfully I prefer to have the colon emptied totally and then you can celebrate later with a decadent meal.

njxelle - many people choose to do a little "anal prep" prior to having anal sex which includes an enema a few hours before the planned activity as @1kuelguy mentioned. Fasting is not really necessary as you only have to have the rectum/anal vault empty (not your entire intestine) to decrease the amount of fecal matter. Even so, this does not mean that there are not bacteria present and you should remember not to go from anus to vagina without washing in order to prevent bacterial infection. There are many things to consider since the structure of the anus and rectum are very different from the vagina and the anus is more susceptible to tears and irritation.
