Achieving Orgasm for a Woman with Partial Female Circumcision

By astro428 on Nov 13, 2010 at 11:04 PM

As a child I had much of my clitoris removed because they practice female circumcision in my culture. I have been able to achieve mild climaxes with manual masturbation but I feel perhaps that I may still be able to achieve an orgasm since I may have gotten close a few times. I wanted to know if there are experts/therapist that have more expertise in dealing with victims of FMG and if there are particular tools or aids for us. I myself am a physician and I have scoured the internet for aid/tips and haven't really found any good resources. I do know that thousands of women are affected in various degrees by FMG but not much has been focused on helping us achieve the most satisfying sexual life we can have.

Most women that I have seen with female circumcision have been able to teach themselves how to experience orgasm. The key is the knowledge that the clitoris is actually much larger than what is usually visible. The normal clitoris has a head, body, and 2 legs that run alongside the public bone. Only a portion of the clitoris is removed during the FGM procedure. That means that there are thousands of nerve endings still present. I teach my patients to use vibrators at the base of the space that once contained the head of the clitoris and to stimulate the G-spot, either manually or with a dildo or vibrator. With patience, many of my patients have found the pleasure that they deserve.

This is great news that there are thousands of nerve endings still present. In order to achieve pleasure, there's also something that K-Y makes that might help--it's called Intense and it is supposed to improve climax. K-Y even went so far as to have studies done using the gel--75% of women reported higher arousal, sensitivity, and pleasure, and 90% of those women said using it improved their overall experience. Good luck!
